Biswamoy Biswas

Biswamoy Biswas (2a de junio, 1923– 10a de aŭgusto, 1994) estis barata ornitologo kiu naskiĝis en Kalkato, kiel filo de profesoro de Geologio. En 1947, li ricevis trijaran membrecon de Sunderlal Hora, tiam direktoro de la Zoological Survey of India (ZSI, Zoologia Priserĉo de Barato). Tio permesis lin studi ĉe la Brita Muzeo, ĉe la berlina Museum für Naturkunde kun Erwin Stresemann kaj ankaŭ ĉe la novjorka Usona Muzeo de Natura Historio kun Ernst Mayr.

Li ricevis titolon Ph.D. en 1952 el la Universitato de Kalkato. Li formis parton de la ekspedicio sendita de Daily Mail serĉi la jetion ĉe la Monto Everesto en 1954. Li estis elektita Koresponda Membro de la American Ornithologists' Union en 1963. Li poste zorgis pri la Birda kaj Mamula Fakooj de la Zoological Survey of India (Zoologia Priserĉo de Barato). Li ricevis la premion Chapman Grants el American Ornithologists' Union en 1965, 1966 kaj 1970, pro sia priserĉado ĉe la Brita Muzeo.
