Charles Kingsley (12a Junio 1819 – 23a Januaro 1875) estis pastro de la Eklezio de Anglio, universitata profesoro, historiisto kaj romanisto. Li estas ĉefe asociata kun la areo de la nuna Sud-okcidenta Anglio kaj nordorienta Hampshire. Li estis amiko kaj korespondanto kun Charles Darwin.[1]
La intereso de Kingsley en historio montriĝas en kelkaj verkoj, kiaj The Heroes (1856), porinfana libro pri Greka mitologio, kaj kelkaj historiaj romanoj, el kiuj la plej bone konataj estas Hypatia (1853), Hereward the Wake (1865) kaj Westward Ho! (1855).
