John William POLIDORI (7a de Septembro 1795 – 24a de Aŭgusto 1821) estis angla verkisto kaj kuracisto. Li estas konata pro sia asocio kun la Romantisma movado kaj konsiderita de kelkaj kiel la kreinto de la privampira ĝenro de fantasta fikcio. Lia plej sukcesa verko estis la mallonga rakonto "The Vampyre" (1819), nome la unua publikigita moderna privampira rakonto. Kvankam dekomence ĝi estis erare atribuita al Lord Byron, kaj Byron kaj Polidori asertis ke la rakonto estas de Polidori.[1]
En 1816, Dro. Polidori eniris en la servo de Lord Byron kiel lia persona kuracisto kaj akompanis lin veture tra Eŭropo.
