The History of the Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire (foje mallongigita al Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire) laŭvorte La Historio de la Malpliiĝo kaj Falo de la Romia ImperioLa Historio de la Malkresko kaj Falo de la Romia Imperio, estas verko pri historio verkita de la angla historiisto Edward Gibbon, kiu skizas la itineron de la okcidenta civilizo (same kiel la konkeroj fare de Islamo kaj de Mongoloj) ekde la epoko de la pinto de la Romia Imperio al la falo de Bizanco. Ĝi estis publikigita en ses volumoj. Volumo I estis publikigita en 1776 kaj ricevis ses presaĵojn.[1] Volumoj II kaj III estis publikigitaj en 1781;[2][3] volumoj IV, V, kaj VI en 1788–89.[4][5][6] La originaj volumoj estis publikigitaj en kvaronsistemo, ofta publikiga praktiko de la epoko. La verko kovras la historion de la Romia Imperio, Eŭropo, kaj la Katolika Eklezio el 98 al 1590 kaj studas la epokon de la Deklino de la Romia Imperio en la Oriento kaj Okcidento.
