Arp 163 is a dwarf galaxy in the constellation of Coma Berenices. It is about 20,000 light years wide and 48 million light years away. It was discovered on April 6th, 1785, by the British astronomer Frederick William Herschel. Color comes from this SDSS field (using i,r,g) although I was very liberal in adjusting those a bit <a href="https://dr12.sdss.org/fields/name?name=arp+163" rel="noreferrer nofollow">dr12.sdss.org/fields/name?name=arp+163</a> ACS/WFC F606W Luminosity from HST Proposal 15446 <a href="https://archive.stsci.edu/proposal_search.php?mission=hst&id=15446" rel="noreferrer nofollow">archive.stsci.edu/proposal_search.php?mission=hst&id=...</a> And yes, I usually post satellite images here, but astronomy is a hobby and I actually processed images every now and then, and I kinda felt like doing it again. So for this first one after a long time I processed a galaxy that was done by Judy Schmidt a while ago, so I could compare the results, always love to see the different styles of processing. I guess you can say my version is a bit softer and darker. After doing it, I can say it took me far too long and I am not so sure about the result.
