Physical description: 1 photograph : digital, tiff file, color.

Notes: Gift; The Lyda Hill Foundation; 2014; (DLC/PP-2014:054).; Title, date and keywords based on information provided by the photographer.; Built in 1910 in this town north of Abilene, this small, brick courthouse was designed by Elmer George Withers, who grew up in Stamford, 17 miles north of Anson on the Jones/Haskell County line. The statue out front depicts Anson Jones (1798-1858), a veteran of the San Jacinto battle that led to Texas independence and the last president of the Texas Republic, for whom the county and city are named.
