John William Coltrane [kolTREJN] (23-an de septembro 1926 – 17-an de julio 1967), laŭ kromnomo Trane, estis usona komponisto de muziko ĵazo kaj ludisto de saksofono.
Kvankam ekzistas surdiskigoj de ties verko de tiom frue kiom 1946, la kariero de Coltrane ne ekis ĝis 1955. Biografio
Komenco (1926–1954)
Naskiĝinta en Hamlet, Norda Karolino, Coltrane kreskiĝis en laŭ komparo privilegiita medio en High Point, dum epoko de racia apartigo. Li livis en ampleksigita familio ĉe la patrina avo, Rev.
