Cĥinval ??? se Cĥinvalio? aŭ Cĥinvali ,Cĥinvalo--Dato - 100 (diskuto) 15:30, 3 Sep. 2012 (UTC)

Why Cĥinval? Any discussion ?[redakti fonton]

I don't see here any discussion about current name of this article. Why russificated "Cĥinval" in esperanto? If we are really interested in NPOV per common used and widespread issues name of this article must be Cĥinvali. --Giorgi Balakhadze (diskuto) 23:34, 19 Feb. 2016 (UTC)

  • Actually, Цхинвал is Tskhinvali in Ossetian language. Ilja Drakonov (diskuto) 11:21, 20 Feb. 2016 (UTC).
    • Cĥinvalo is the right form of the ossetian name in Esperanto. The sound in English written "ts" in Esperanto is "c", the sound in English written "kh" in Esperanto is "ĥ", and the ending af any noun in Esperanto must be "-o" ("-i" would be an infinitive form of a verb, so in english would be as incomprehensible as in Esperanto, maybe a nonexisting verb "to tskhinvalize", simply nonsense). Already in map 14a of "Poŝatlaso de la mondo" of 1971 (the still leading atlas of the language) the Esperanto name Cĥinvalo is documented, then of course still in the Soviet Union, but still, the names were chosen from the local languages, not from russian). There is no matter of discussion here, the grammar of Esperanto is unchangeble, and the place name in Esperanto long is fixed. ThomasPusch (diskuto) 11:43, 6 jun. 2024 (UTC)[Respondi]
