Eric Roberts

Eric Roberts (18-an de aprilo 1956 en Biloxi, Misisipio kiel Walter Eric Anthony Roberts) estas usona aktoro. Li estas la pli aĝa frato de Julia Roberts kaj Lisa Roberts Gillan.

Biografio

Eric Roberts naskiĝis kiel unua infano de Walter Roberts (1933–1977) kaj Betty Roberts (naskiĝis la 13-an de aŭgusto 1934 kiel Betty Lou Bredemus), kiam lia patro servis ĉe la usona aerarmeo kaj stacionis en Biloxi. Post divorco de la gepatroj en 1972, li translokiĝis kun la patrino al Smyrna ĉe Atlanta. En 1973–1975 li povis studi ĉe Royal Academy of Dramatic Art en Londono, danke al financa apogo de sia patro. Li daŭrigis la aktoradan studadon ĉe American Academy of Dramatic Arts en Novjorko.

En 1977 ricevis Roberts la unuajn rolojn en teatraĵoj, samjare ludis li ankaŭ kiel Ted Bancroft en la televida serio Another World. En 1985, li estis nomumita pro lia ludo en filmo Runaway Train kiel plej bona epizodisto, por la Oskarpremio. Pli poste okazis kariera rompo pro personaj problemoj, en decembro de 1987 li estis arestita pro maltrankviligo (surbaze de diskuto kun sia edzino, kiun ŝi puŝis al la muro), oni trovis ĉe li drogojn.

En 2002, li transprenis la ĉefrolon en la televida serio Office Girl. Li poste aperis en diversaj muzikvideoj (The Killers, Mariah Carey, Akon, Eminem).

Lia filino Emma (n. 1991) estis videbla en roloj, ekz. en la filmo Blow de 2001.
