Lynne REID BANKS (la 31-an de julio 1929 en Londono; la 4-an de aprilo 2024) estis brita verkistino, precipe pri infanaj kaj junaj plenkreskaj libroj [1].
Antaŭ debuti kiel verkisto, ŝi laboris kiel aktoro kaj kiel televida ĵurnalisto [2].
Inter ŝiaj plej konataj verkoj estas The L-Shaped Room (La L-forma ĉambro, 1960), pri juna fraŭla virino, kiu gravediĝas [3], kaj la infanlibro The Indian in the Kitchen Cupboard (La indiĝeno en la kuireja ŝranko, 1980) per kiu ŝi fariĝis internacia konata kaj kiu ankaŭ estis adaptita en filmon [4].
En 1962, Banks elmigris al Israelo, kie ŝi vivis sur Kibuco Yas'ur dum la ok jaroj. En 1965 ŝi geedziĝis kun Chaim Stephenson, skulptisto, kun kiu ŝi havis tri filojn [5]. Unu el ili, Omir Stephenson, laboris kun sia patrino pri du bildlibroj en 2010. Eĉ se la familio translokiĝis al Anglio en 1971, ilia tempo en Israelo influis ŝian laboron.
