The 39 Steps ("La 39 ŝtupoj") estas brita streĉ-filmo de 1935 reĝisorita de Alfred Hitchcock en kiu stelulis Robert Donat kaj Madeleine Carroll. Ĝi estas iel bazita sur la aventura romano The Thirty-Nine Steps de John Buchan de 1915.[1] Ĝi temas pri ĉiuhoma civilulo en Londono, nome Richard Hannay, kiu interplektiĝas en la evitado ke organizo de spionoj nome "The 39 Steps" ŝtelu britiajn militsekretojn. Post esti erare akuzita pro la murdo de kontraŭ-spiona agento, Hannay foriras al Skotlando kai enkotiĝas kun alloga virino dum esperas haltigi la spionan komploton kaj senmakuligi sian nomon.
Ekde sia dekomenca publikigo, la filmo estis amplekse agnoskita kiel klasikaĵo. Filmisto kaj aktoro Orson Welles referencis ĝin kiel "majstroverko". Scenaristo Robert Towne notis, "Ne estas troigo diri, ke ĉiu nuntempa distreco komencas per The 39 Steps."[2]
